Sometimes, you will insert one of our
codes and the image does not appear. There are several
possible causes and here are detailed instruction for
solving them: 1. The Raw Code
Appears. Sometimes you will insert the code and
instead of seeing an image something like the following
text will appear:
<img
border="0" src="https://www.chromaluna.com/hotlinks/Happy
BirthdayC.gif"> |
This can be caused by two
different problems: A.
Inserting At The Wrong Level. The codes that
Chromaluna provides are HTML codes and they must be
pasted into the "Raw HTML" level of your web page,
profile or email to work. Pasting them at the "Text
Level", will just display the codes, not the images. The
way you can paste at the HTML level varies with the
circumstances. MySpace and other social networking allow
you to paste the codes directly into your profile. Other
sites may not, but may instead have a special box or
page that will accept the raw HTML. The same thing
applies to Blogs and personal web sites. The best option
is to refer to the instructions or online help for these
tools. Emails - Internet
Explorer. Email are a different situation. Most
Email programs won't allow you to paste raw HTML into
the email editor. Instead, you have to use a different
procedure. First, create the email you want to send and
make sure the email editor is in "HTML" mode. Now go to
the page on "Chromaluna" that has the glitter image you
want to use and instead of selecting the code in the
"Text Box", "right-click" on the actual image. This will
bring up a menu. Choose the "Copy Image" option.
Finally, go back to your email and paste it directly
into your message. The image should appear immediately.
It may not be "animated" while you are composing the
message, but it will be animated once it is sent.
Emails - Firefox. The procedure
described above will work if you are using FireFox, but
if the image is animated, the animation will be lost and
the image will be static. This may be fine if the
original image was not animated, but if it was animated,
the result, will be static and may not look as nice.
You can still insert an animated image using Firefox,
but it is a little more complicated. Probably the
easiest way to insert an image from FireFox is to right
click on the image and select the "Save Image As". This
will allow you to save the image as a file on your hard
drive. Make sure you remember where you saved the image.
After you saved the image, you can just drag and drop
that image into an email. B.
Corrupted Codes. Another common situation that will
cause the problem is corrupted codes. For example, it is
fairly easy to delete or insert a character or two while
you are entering the codes into MySpace. If this
happens, the code will be corrupted and the browser may
not even know that the codes are HTML codes. If this
happens, the browser will just display the characters in
the code instead of the image the codes specify.
If you have pasted a corrupted code, the
solution is to go back and get a new copy of the codes
and re-paste it. If the problem has occurred with a
comment that you have pasted into a friends profile, you
may be able to remove the comment and create a new one.
(Check the help files, forums and newsgroups associated
with the web site you are using for instructions on how
to remove a comment.) II.
Missing Images. You can also have a problem where
there codes don't appear, but the image is still
missing. This can be caused by a corrupted code as
described above or could be a problem at Chromaluna. For
example, our server could be down. Also, although we
make every effort to make sure all our codes are
properly linked, we occasionally make mistakes. If this
happens, please let us know and we will fix the problem:
[email protected].
Be sure specify exactly which image you
are having problems with. |
